Re: Actual football discussion
Yea it could be a lean year however sometime success breads success the team may get some kids out that 2 years ago would not have came out for the team plus the guys comming back know how to win and that could be the differance in some games right there.
(That being said I still look for it to be a tough year for them)
Re: Actual football discussion
They probably lose all but 1 or 2 starters on each side of the ball, so they will have very little experience returning, and I hope their numbers do pick up, but your generally very limited to the amount you pick up with a school of that size when you graduate half your team.
Re: Actual football discussion
Yep and loseing all there skill positions will be hard to plug others into there spot
Re: Actual football discussion
Here is an interesting fact. I know this is two different divisions but Ervinton has more power points than Gate City. This is in no way a knock on Gate City. If you were to tell me last year that Ervinton would have more points than GC I would look at you like you'd lost it. I know I'm comparing apples and bananas but still. It's an interesting fact.
I feel kind of funny seeing that 4-6 next to Gate City. I don't see it next to them next year though.
Re: Actual football discussion
Plug Ervinton into GC's season and see how many points they would have then. That is how Hurley got in last year.
Re: Actual football discussion
Why would Ervinton play Gate City's schedule? Different division, district, and recruitment area :P
I don't think Trumpet was insulting Gate City, it was odd, but like I said, I wouldn't want to base my survival on Gate City having a bad year too often

[/ QUOTE ]Plug... nothing to do with playing , talking about getting points for the play-offs. It is an odd year that GC isn't in the post season and if they played a softer non-conference they might have made it anyway. Same as Hurley last year . :P
